Heritage
Founded in 2003 by artist and designer Dilek Platin on the ancient Silk Road, SilkAndSilver blends timeless materials with soulful inspiration. The name reflects our foundation: Silk, symbolizing flow, elegance, and origin. Silver, our chosen medium, honors the hands that shape it and the stories it carries.

Artisanal Craft Meets Conscious Design
Each piece is carefully handcrafted in our nature-facing atelier in Mudanya. The process begins with selecting the right materials; once the form is established, surfaces are finished by hand, textures are built detail by detail, and final checks complete the work. That is why no two pieces are ever exactly the same—subtle variations are the signature of handcraft. We work with 925 sterling silver, gold, porcelain, meerschaum, sustainably sourced woods, freshwater pearls, coral, ammonite, and semi-precious natural stones.
In our design approach, traditional techniques—wax carving, silver inlay, and cold enameling—meet modern ways of making. Guided by slow production principles, we create in small, attentive series. Whenever possible, we refine and repurpose leftover materials, approaching every step with respect for nature.

Inspired by the Anatolian and Mediterranean spirit, our sculptural and contemporary jewelry draws from mythology, personal memory, nature’s rhythms, and cultural heritage. Every piece tells a story — sometimes ancient, sometimes intimate — waiting to be completed by the wearer.
Some collections are born in collaboration, like our wooden series crafted with Mr. Ziya. Others evolve through the hands of Dilek herself, merging artistic vision with emotional depth.
