Gold or silver?

In this article my aim is to help you choose the metal color that suits your overall look and outfits. If you haven't read yet, read my blog post titled 'Which Color', where I tell you which colors will suit you. If you adapt the 12 seasons color chart I described there, what I have explained below will be a base and will be much easier.

To summarize briefly, there are colors that suit all of us and colors that do not. The easiest way to understand them is to find our own season from the 12 color season chart. When we find out which season type we are according to our dominant and secondary characteristics, we can also find out what metals suit us.

In the photo, the left side is grouped in cold colors and the right side in warm colors:

On the left are cobalt chrome, silver, platinum, palladium, titanium, zirconium, black zirconium and tungsten.

On the right are 10K white gold, 14K white gold, 18K white gold, 10K yellow gold, 14K yellow gold, 18K yellow gold, 22K yellow gold, 10K rose gold.

According to the belief of the ancient world, silver came from the moon and gold from the sun.

We obtain the colors of gold by adding different alloys to it. The color of pure gold is an extremely warm yellow. Whatever color we add, whether white or rose gold, all gold alloys have warmth.

8 out of 12 seasons can easily carry both gold and silver on them.

However, those who have the following two season colors are not pleasing to the eye when they use gold: cold winter and cold summer . Other than that, all of them can use different alloys of gold in suitable combinations. Besides, there are some that do not suit silver. Warm spring and warm autumn group.

So what should they do if they love silver?

Silver is a cold-colored metal. How can we make it warm?

  1. Stone, enamel: We color it with stone and enamel.

  2. Plating: Platings such as gold, rhodium provide the opportunity to change color in a thin layer.

  3. Blackening: Thanks to the oxidation process, a black layer is formed on the surface of the silver. Different tones of this color can be obtained with different chemicals. Like Grey, Red...

  4. Polish: We can create a lively or natural effect with matte or glossy polish.

In a new table, I have listed which mines would be more appropriate for which seasonal type to use.

The way to look good is to choose the one that suits you.
